Let us show you all that the sound side of our barrier islands has to offer. Here you’ll find quiet, calm waters and a host of wildlife you won’t find on the oceanside.

Daytime kayak tour

  • $35 per person

  • 1.5 - 2 hours

These tours take place throughout the day. This is a great tour for beginners or for people who just want to get on the water without disturbing their vacation sleep-ins! Our guides will wind you around islands and our marshy mazes while filling you in on wildlife spottings and local history, while answering your questions. It's a great way to be on the water, have fun, and feel safe and comfortable while you're out there!

Sunset kayak tour

  • $40 per person

  • 1.5 - 2 hours

Twilight on the Currituck Sound is a quiet, awesome time. Paddling the waters as the sun sinks toward the horizon and then watching as the colors of the sky, clouds, sun, and waters change in brillant hues - this is an experience that you won't soon forget.  Our most popular tour, paddlers come back year after year to experience this remarkable moment on the water.

Kid kayak tour

  • $60 per double kayak

  • 1 adult and 1 child for 1 hour

These tours are family friendly but tailored for kids with an emphasis on fun, hands-on learning. We give kids dip nets to allow them to sweep through grass beds in search of small water critters like shrimp or minnows. These tours are shorter in both time and distance than our traditional tours.  We'll get you and your kids into double kayaks and take time to paddle and play as we make stops along the shoreline and small islands. This tour is generally recommended for kids aged 4 to 10 years old.

Sunrise kayak tour

  • $40 per person

  • minimum 6 people, 1.5 - 2 hours

We know it's early but there really is nothing like slipping into the water while it's still dark and paddling the quiet waters as daylight breaks and the day begins.  Even the biggest non-morning people have a wide, peaceful smile after the trip and are happy to have risen out of the bed early that morning.  As well as getting to see the sunrise, this tour offers one of the best chances for wildlife viewing as many of the nocturnal species (fox, deer, raccoon) are still prowling around. Plus, in the summertime, it's a great way to beat the heat of the day!

Moonlight kayak tour

  • $40 per person

  • minimum 6 people, 1.5 hours

Looking for a twist on a traditional trip? This moonlight tour could be just what you're looking for. Paddle around under the light of the stars and moon, trusting your guide to lead you out of the twists and turns of the marshy mazes. With the Currituck Beach Lighthouse as your beacon and nightlight, you'll feel safe as you stargaze, watch overhead for bats, and watch for jumping mullet.

Monkey island kayak tour

  • $70 per person

  • minimum 4 people, 3-4 hours

Monkey Island is one of the most isolated and storied locations on the Outer Banks! Join us on a paddle trip as we explore the waters around the island. Once out there, you'll have the chance to hear some local history about the island and also to view the thousands of roosting wading birds and ospreys that call the island their home in the summer. Paddle time is 3 to 4 hours, depending on weather. We'll take a few breaks on the trip and take some time for some snacks (provided). This trip is for experienced paddlers only and reservations are required.
